Asbestos, Lead, Radon, & Chinese Drywall Testing

Is asbestos testing necessary?

Asbestos testing is really only necessary if your home was built pre 1977. After this year, homebuilders strayed away from the lung disease causing substance. Asbestos is typically found in insulation, flooring, paint, roof, and more!

Is lead testing necessary?

The older your home, the more likely it contains lead-based paint. Roughly 90% of homes built before 1940 have some lead-based paint, while 24% of homes built between 1960 and 1978 have some lead-based paint. So if your home was built pre 1978, lead testing may be necessary!

Is Radon testing necessary?

Testing is the only way to find out your home's radon levels. EPA and the Surgeon General recommend testing all homes below the third floor for radon. If you find that you have high radon levels, there are ways to fix a radon problem. Even very high levels can be reduced to acceptable levels.

Is chinese drywall testing necessary?

In brief, the main problems with Chinese drywalls relate to the emission of potentially toxic and corrosive gases from the drywalls into the home atmosphere. Such emitted fumes include, but are not limited to: hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, carbon disulfide, and possibly other irritating and corrosive fumes.
